1. Introduction
1.1 Purpose of the Manual
This document provides guidance to users of the Solid Waste Management Information System (SWMIS). It explains how to access the platform, navigate its features, and perform key tasks related to waste data management, monitoring, and reporting as per the Integrated Solid Waste Management Law Number 80 dated 18 October 2018.
1.2 System Overview
Solid Waste Management Information System (SWMIS) Platform
The Solid Waste Management Information System (SWMIS) is a digital platform designed to support the Ministry of Environment in monitoring, managing, and analyzing solid waste data across municipalities and waste management facilities.
The System enables:
- Centralization of National Waste Management Data and Information from stakeholders including municipalities, unions, private collectors and treatment facilities
- Monitoring of waste facilities and operations
- Auditing of Performance of Municipalities and other Stakeholders
- Visualization and generation of waste statistics through dashboards
- Generation of reports for policy and planning
- GIS-based mapping of waste infrastructure
- Submission of Complaints on waste management and reporting violations
1.3 SWMIS Intended Users
The software is designed for the following user groups:
